How We Run an Estate Sale
Phase one
The "Big 3" Preparation Phase
Before a single item is priced, the house must be cleared of three key categories. This simplifies inventory and the decision-making process significantly.
- Remove Sentimentals: Family members take what they are keeping - before pricing begins.
- Remove Trash: Actual garbage is cleared so we can see the true inventory.
- Remove Hazardous Materials: Paints, solvents, and chemicals are disposed of safely and responsibly.
Phase two
The Feasibility Study
We protect you by being honest about the numbers – calculating the labour vs. revenue balance so you know what to expect before committing.
- Setup Costs: Two staff working one to two full days to organize, research, and price.
- Sale Weekend: Three staff members working eight to ten hours each day.
- The Weather Factor: We always have a contingency plan to ensure strong turnout.
Phase three
The "Zero-Waste" Exit Strategy
A sale is only truly successful if the house is empty at the end. We manage every unsold item so you never have to think twice.
